Kate Baker Mosaic Muse Exhibit, Coolings Nursery, Sevenoaks 16 June
I first came across talented-Kent based artist, Kate Baker a few months ago when her quirky mosaic creations caught my eye. Kate crafts art inspired by Nature and it’s beauty, and often uses items that others might have thrown away, ultimately creating a unique piece of visual and tactile art.
If you are interested in learning the art of Mosaic then head over to Kate facebook page for her workshop dates. Or go see her at one of her exhibitions, like this one in Sevenoaks, and stock up on original gifts.
Rick Astley, Bedgebury Pinetum and Forest, 16 June
Yup, that’s right – he of the snake-hipped, hand-shimmy fame is coming to our neck-of-the-woods (quite literally). Here he is, pictured now at 50 years-old and hasn’t he aged well? And 29 years after his first album shot up the charts he celebrated a surprise No.1 place last year with his nattily titled album ’50’ – a middle-aged crooner’s cheeky nod to Adele’s habit of naming her albums after her age. Hilarious – love it! Expect hits old and new.
