Autumn Colour Trail, Hever Castle, From 1 Oct

As the air turns crisp and a rich display of autumn colour envelops the countryside, pack your walking boots or wellies and head to Hever Castle to enjoy the crunch of leaves underfoot and spectacular autumn tints. Enjoy FREE garden tours of Faith’s Garden with information about seed collecting, every Tuesday and Wednesday. Let the little ones take on the Leaf & Seed Collection Challenge, if they collect 10 different seeds and leaves from Anne Boleyn’s Walk and Lane Walk, they’ll be given a bulb to take home and plant. Plus Hever Castle’s Golf Club’s Head Greenkeeper, Rob Peers, will be sewing meadow seeds ready for flowering in Spring. You will be able to see the ground prepped and ready for the seeds. Tunbridge Wells Puppetry Festival, Fri 11 – Sun 13 Oct

A buzzing, three-day community arts event full of creativity and participation, taking place at Trinity Theatre and other venues across Tunbridge Wells. Proving that puppetry is far from just Punch & Judy, this festival celebrates the art in all its many forms – object theatre, marionettes, shadow play, kites – from a 17ft Arbor to a mini marvel of a table top show for an audience of eight, the packed programme has something for everyone, including lots of ticketed and free shows that are perfect for families. Spanish theatre company Cal y Canto and their breathtaking A-TA-KA! show will officially launch the festival on Fri 11 Oct at Trinity Theatre Gardens where everyone is invited to a free, magically surreal outdoor show on the theme of ‘air’ – a musical spectacle of kites, torches and flying creatures that will transform and light up the sky. Samsara Yoga Day Retreat, Hadlow, Sat 12 Oct
