Transience: An Exhibition of Photographs by Tony Nandi, Linden Hall Studio, Until 13 July

Tony Nandi has been photographing the performance arts for almost forty years, with a special interest in dance. He is intrigued by the challenge of the conveyance of a dynamic time-based, three dimensional, emotionally charged creative production into a static two-dimensional image. He wants viewers to engage with the physical and emotional experience of a performance but through his timing and composition of a photograph. Dancers can be suspended in the air or dashing to the stage or simply sharing an emotional experience or anticipation of their next move or intent. Nandi primarily works for marketing, documentary or press purposes but this is the first time his images can be viewed where the above engagement may be limited. 60 photographs from his archive, from across his whole career, have come together to be exhibited in this form. See the exhibition at Linden Hall Studio, a contemporary art gallery in Deal, the exhibition is running til 13 July. Opening hours: Tues – Sat, 10am – 4pm. lindenhallstudio.co.uk
