So we're not going out this month, but here's some ideas - including online art, mindfulness courses and virtual supper clubs! All brilliant things to do to help us keep sane while we're social distancing...

RELAX AND DE-STRESS: With online yoga from Flow Tunbridge Wells or Samsara Retreat & Yoga

CLICK AND COLLECT: Sue Davies Christmas Pop-Up Shop, Online

Support Local and keep the festive spirit alive by ordering your decorations from Kent’s cutest Christmas shop. Every year brilliant Sutton Valence florist, Sue Davies, turns her floristry in The Old Butcher’s Shop into a perky, quirky Christmas Shop. Christmas just wouldn’t be the same without it.

Hurray! This year it’s back – but all online this time. Sue has put as many decorations as possible in her shop window so passers by can see what the decs look like before buying.

You just order online for ‘Click and Collect‘ – you’ll have to swing by to pick up the goodies. We love her range – there’s nothing you can’t find in this treasure trove!

VIRTUAL COOK-ALONG: Mojito & Mexican Fiesta, Alive With Flavour, Wed 11 Nov

Want to get hands-on with food and meet new people every month? The Alive with Flavour Supper Clubs is a fab chance to do just that! Join them this November for their Virtual Supper Club with guest chef, Jacqueline Wise.

Make delicious Mexican fillings and the family favourite enchiladas. Go on try something new and cook along! Plus who doesn’t love a Mojito? Weds 11 Nov, 7-8pm, via Zoom and everyone can join for the low price of £7! Book your spot now.    

GET IN SHAPE: With SPN+ virtual fitness and wellness membership

ONLINE COOKING CLASS: Scandi Cooking Class, The Cooking Apple, Tues 10 Nov

Join a Virtual Cooking Class with Pip from The Cooking Apple (yes, her real name!) who has added extra classes during the lockdown period to keep us all entertained (and nourished). Spend 75 mins making indulgent Christmas delights in your own kitchen. , (Tues 10 Nov, 1pm – 2.15pm for £17.50 pp. Book your spot here.

Or get older children to try the Teen Christmas Baking (Sat 28 Nov, 4pm – 5.15pm) Or a second Scandi Christmas Class, this time in the evening (Thurs 26 Nov, 7.30pm – 8.45pm), which might be fun to do with your other half (date night with a difference!)

We don’t go to Canterbury or Folkestone without popping into one of the Lilford Galleries. There’s always cool, modern, playful art on display and we just *need* to have it. T

he next show is Anna Allworthy, renowned for her atmospheric, layered urban landscapes. She’s inspired by travel, the effects of globalisation and a fascination with the ever-evolving nature of the cities, all of which are reflected in this new collection of work. Cool right?

TRY THIS: Brilliant new virtual Barre exercise class, from FindurFit

Okay, so it’s happening again, but this time without the sunshine. So why not get in your best shape ever from the comfort of your sitting room or kitchen?

Findurfit is run by Sarah Best the super approachable and friendly online fitness class instructor and personal trainer. Sarah promises to inspire you to make fitness part of your life and find a love of exercise whatever level you are.

If it’s the long, lean look you’re after this class will provide the right mix of ballet inspired moves, gymnasticy core work and mobility.

It’s low impact but still full body – expect to lift, squeeze and pulse every muscle! You will improve your core strength, flexibility and muscle tone…oh and find a few muscles you never knew you had! Equipment: Mat, kitchen counter/chair, lightweights.

RESTAURANT SUNDAY ROAST: from The Curious Eatery, delivered to your door

If you’re a regular reader you’ll know we love this sister-run, hidden-gem of a restaurant in Boughton Monchelsea.

The Curious Eatery has really demonstrated how to pivot and adapt in challenging times. During lockdown they created BBQ boxes which they delivered (we treated ourselves to one for Mr Muddy’s birthday this summer – delicious!). These are still available alongside the hugely popular Roast Boxes – currently a firm favourite with diners. Find out more about Delivery and Collection services here.
