Midsummer Night’s Dream

Missing the theatre? We know we are! Experience the drama broadcasted live from London’s West End as part of National Theatre Live’s 10th Birthday season. Trinity Theatre in Tunbridge Wells will be showing award-winning shows such as The Lehman Trilogy, Midsummer Night’s Dream, Present Laughter and All My Sons – to name a few! Assembly Hall Theatre reopening, Tunbridge Wells, Sat 17 Oct 

It’s time to support the Arts! The much-loved theatre in Tunbridge Wells will re-open for live performances with a reduced capacity from 17 Oct. Heritage Orchard Days, Brogdale Collections, Sat 17 & Sun 18 Oct

Brogdale Collections is holding Heritage Orchard Days to help save the Charity’s heritage orchards. Enjoy orchard walks, fruit displays, juice tastings, a family apple trail and cider sales. Halloween Half Term Trail, Leeds Castle, 24 Oct – 1 Nov

Go on, get them out this October Half Term! Join Leeds Castle for some spooky fun, download the Leeds Castle App and explore the grounds to scan codes and complete the Halloween themed activity trail! Challenge accepted. All you need to do is book your Admission tickets, choose a time slot and download the App. Once you’ve paid for your day, you get to visit Leeds Castle for FREE for 15 months (returns back to 12 months from Dec 31 2020). So there’s plenty more days of fun to be had where that came from.

Spooky Half Term Fun, Wildwood, 24 Oct – 1 Nov

For the perfect family day out, head to Wildwood, just outside Herne Bay with over 200 native animals set in 40 acres of beautiful ancient woodland, there is guaranteed to be an animal-favourite for everyone! The Wicked Witch Of The Wild Wood, Penshurst Place, 26 – 30 Oct

With the ever-changing guidance on events, Penshurst Place are re-working the traditional set up of their most-loved Halloween event; The Wicked Witch of the Wild Wood storytelling! START Art Fair, Saatchi Gallery, 21-25 Oct

Hey Queenie, nice nose ring! This cool, contemporary art fair, which takes pieces from London’s top galleries, will go ahead this year with social distancing measures and an exceptional line up of artists including  Lincoln Townley,  Erika Navas and Nat Bowen. In addition to START Art Fair, Korean Eye’s 2020 exhibition Creativity and Daydream will be on show having travelled from The State Hermitage in St Petersburg after a six-month stay, featuring a wealth of emerging and established talent from South Korea. 

Among The Trees, The Hayward Gallery, Southbank, until 31 Oct 

From Colombian rainforests and remote Japanese islands to olive orchards in Israel and a 9,550-year-old spruce in Sweden, this mixed media exhibition explores trees relationship to humans, featuring work from 37 international artists. You’re right on the Southbank so plenty of foodie options to head to after your culture fix. 

Electronic: From Kraftwerk to the Chemical Brothers, The Design Museum, London, until 14 Feb

From underground raves to the pioneering sounds used in Dr Who, this exhibition explores the history and culture of electronic music throughout the ages. 

Ai Weiwei: History of Bombs Exhibition, Imperial War Museum, London, until 24 May 2021

Part of Refugees, a free season of exhibitions, artistic commissions and immersive events taking place across IWM London and IWM North, this exhibition draws on renowned artist Ai Weiwei’s ongoing investigation into politics and power.
