Snowdrop Walk, Hever Caste, Sat 9 Feb – Sun 3 March 

A heavenly carpet of snowdrops will provide a magical trail for visitors to follow at Hever Castle from Sat 9 Feb! Around 80,000 snowdrop bulbs have been planted in the Gardens over the past few years which will be a beautiful sight to see this February. If you’re feeling energetic, you can also take part in the peaceful one hour Hever Lake Walk which will take you around the perimeter of the 38 acre lake – wellies advised! 

Secret Art Party, The Black Pig in Tunbridge Wells, Tues 12 Feb

Secret Art Parties offers a special painting masterclass, come and enjoy creating your own version of a modern masterpiece with a brush in one hand and a drink in the other! All abilities are welcome and on Tues 12 Feb have the chance to create your own version of Edvard Munch’s lyrical, ‘Dance on the Shore’. Hosted in The Black Pig pub in Tunbridge Wells between 7 – 10:30pm. 

Valentine’s Day, Macknade Fine Foods, Thurs 14 Feb

Celebrate the most romantic night of the year at Macknade and enjoy a classic, seasonal menu from local chef’s Ally & Kim. The menu costs £45 and includes three courses, canapés, a glass of bubbly on arrival and tea, coffee & chocolates to finish. Book your table now! Reservations from 7 – 8:30 pm still available. 

Valentine’s Dine and Stay Experience, Hever Castle, Thu 14 – Fri 15 Feb

Time to bring on the fromage! But here on Muddy we say, if you’re gonna go romantic do it in style. Bring out the Anne Boleyn in you at Hever Castle (Winner of Best Boutique Stay in Muddy Award 2018). Arrive from midday to enjoy the Castle and garden – be wined and dined with a drinks reception, followed by dinner served in the Tudor Suite. An after-dinner bar will be available until midnight (more wine please, manservant) and in the morning refuel (wink, wink) with a full English or Continental Breakfast. Tickets for this Valentine’s Day experience start at £200.00 per person, with upgradable rooms also available for an added £14 – £40 pp. LAST FEW rooms left to get in quick!

Pop-up with Chef Ben Sulston, The Old Fire Station, Tonbridge, Fri 15 & Sat 16 Feb

The Old Fire Station in Tonbridge is more than just a coffee shop by day! The historic building hosts a range of exciting pop-ups and events all year round and this February TOFS is welcoming Ben Sulston. Chef Sulston has been cooking for over 20 years around the world including Brazil, Thailand and closer to home in Spain, Holland, France and all over the UK. Top chef, catering guru and wedding and events organiser, Nicci, knows a thing or two about putting on a bash – so you’re in safe hands. Wind your way down candlelit pathways and dine in an otherworldly atmosphere amongst the trees, encased within the walls of a beautiful spellbinding sailcloth tent. The pop up will appear in the grounds of Friday Street Farm, East Sutton where you’ll enjoy magical entertainment, a cocktail upon arrival and a delicious 5 course feast. Tickets cost £85.

Children’s Book Festival, Dreamland, Margate, Sat 16 Feb 

Dreamland hosts its first ever Children’s Book Festival this February half term, from 10 – 4pm on Sat 16 Feb. The action-packed line up includes a very special appearance from The Gruffalo, plus screenings of film adaptations of Julia Donaldson & Axel Scheffler classics by Magic Light Pictures, including Room On The Broom, Stick Man, The Highway Rat, The Gruffalo and their highly-anticipated latest release Zog!

Half-term Hunters, Leeds Castle, 16 – 24 Feb

Help Me Healthy Yoga Day, Green Farm Retreats, Shadoxhurst, Sun 17 Feb

With tickets at £24 pp – a night of laughs not to miss! 


Stop Motion Animation, Trinity Theatre, Mon 18 – Wed 20 Feb

Back by popular demand! Trinity Theatre’s Youth Course will teach you all there is to know about creating a story using stop motion animation over three days. Starting from Mon 18 – Weds 20 in February from 10 – 4pm, recommended for ages 9-15. Explore animation using every day objects, sweets and even humans! From creating your figurines to positioning the camera, bring any tale to life with a skilled facilitator, and be sent your work after the course. 

Kaiser Chiefs, Margate Winter Gardens, 19 Feb 

Formed in Leeds in 2000, Kaiser Chiefs are one of the leading bands of their generation. Fronted by the charismatic Ricky Wilson, the band have had a string of hits such as ‘Oh My God’, ‘I Predict A Riot’, ‘Everyday I Love You Less and Less’, ‘Never Miss A Beat’ and ‘Hole In My Soul.’ Tickets are going for £35 at the Margate Winter Gardens on 19 Feb at 7:30 pm!

Mary Poppins: Returns, Trinity Theatre, Weds 20 Feb

Have you somehow slipped under a rock? Don’t miss Mary Poppins Returns at Trinity Theatre in Tunbridge Wells. Have a drink in the bar, escape the crowds and see Emily Blunt play our favourite magical nanny. 

Faversham Literary Festival, Faversham, Thurs 21 – Sun 24 Feb

Jo Brand, Will Self, Lionel Shriver and Jenni Murray head a stellar line-up at Faversham’s second literary festival. More than 30 events to choose from, including fiction, nature writing, political debate, writings on the refugee crisis, history, cookery, poetry and more. Most ticket prices are £3 and £5, with a few special events priced slightly higher! So no excuse to miss this! 

High School Musical, Trinity Theatre, Fri 22 & Sat 23 Feb

The Disney Channel’s smash hit movie musical is not only hitting the stage, but it’s actually coming to life, right here in Kent at the Trinity Theatre. Performed by Trinity Youth Theatre (these guys are good – Trinity Theatre have a reputation for nurturing real up and coming talent). Warning! These songs are earworms – you will be belting them out aaaall week. Running on Fri 22 Feb, 2pm & 7pm and Sat 23 Feb, 2pm.
