Flashdance, The Musical, Assembly Hall Theatre, Tunbridge Wells, Mon 13 Nov to Sat 18 Nov
Pass me my legwarmers, high leg leotard, and heavy dute welding visor – I’m ready for my Flashdance closeup. Eh, what do you mean Joanne Clifton already has the lead role? (*sigh*) Yes tis true, the Strictly champion continues her successful foray into musicals taking on the role of Alex, tomboy building site worker by day, gyrating sweaty permahaired foxtress by night. She stars with A1’s Ben Adams in this touring production that has me more excited than I dare admit. First when there’s nothing…But a slow glowing dream… (sing it with me…!)
Kentish Made Christmas pop up, Staplehurst, Mon 13 – Fri 17 Nov
Katie opens the doors to her home (which conveniently used to be an actual shop) at this time every year and invites the makers of things she likes to join her in a Christmas shopping mini emporium. It’s small but perfectly formed. Don’t expect a sprawling Christmas market, but do expect lots of beautiful gift ideas that have been made by someone who lives in a 10 mile radius of the shop you’re standing in. It’s open every day next week during school hours, and also in the evening of Thursday 16 Nov, 7pm until 10pm. Address: Aysgarth, High Street, Staplehurst.
