Book this: Wealden literary festival

Immerse yourself in all things wholesome with a nature-inspired literary festival that the whole family will love this June!

These past 18 months have taken a toll on all of us and now restrictions are easing, it’s easy to jump back in to the usual tangle of traffic, technology and stress.

Not on our watch! Instead, how about immerse yourself in all things wholesome with a literary festival that the whole family will love and that celebrates the natural world?

The Wealden Literary Festival is the perfect opportunity to pause and explore the living world around us; a moment’s respite from the bustle and bustle of life. Curated with all ages in mind.

It’s a family-friendly weekend of nature, creativity and outdoor adventures in the enchanting setting of Boldshaves Garden in Woodchurch, near Tenterden, Sat 26 – Sun 27 June 2021.

The line-up features award-winning nature writers, authors and conservationists including Michael Morpurgo, Carol Ann Duffy, Joseph Coelho and there’s a packed children’s programme to inspire younger readers.

Alongside literary events, try your hand at tree climbing, wild cooking, wine tasting, calligraphy, weaving workshops, yoga plus drop-in writing workshops and much more!

Can they sum up the event for us? Sure can, founder Andrew says: ‘We hope, through the programme at Wealden Literary Festival, to nurture the links between people – and in particular children – and nature. We believe that nowadays all too many people lack the means to engage in any meaningful way with the natural world. We also believe that with improved access to nature comes a desire to cherish and protect it. The natural world provides a wealth of opportunities for learning, creativity and discovery which the Festival embraces.’

Hear, hear, we say. And, can you point me in the direction of the mobile cocktail bar please?
