Here on Muddy we love anything cool and quirky and you don’t get much more different than a hand decorated animal skull… No siree, Bob.

But strangely beautiful isn’t it? This, and a whole collection of other beaded, bejewelled skulls, are the creation of artist and designer Daisy Harkness of Denim and Bone who basically salvages the skulls from junk shops and transforms them into this stunning bohemian wall

Prices range from £130 – £900, depending on the individual design. Each piece is hand-decorated by Daisy, who is pretty damn cool herself, in her studio treehouse, near Sevenoaks (below).

I want her office! (And the legs to wear those shorts!) Of her creations, Daisy says: ‘My work reflects my belief that beauty is within everything.’ Proving she’s a smart lass – not just for being original but also for cleverly riding the up-cycling wave. Unsurprisingly, even although her business is still in its very fledgling stages, her work is already attracting quite a lot of attention – I mean this centrepiece is  going to be a conversation starter, right?

She also brings her own unique twists to jackets, jewellery and accessories. I think the jackets deserve a future post in their own right, so watch this space…

Now when it comes to interior décor I’m really trying to break the mould. I want walls that say *Pah!* in the face of failsafe magnolia. And these skulls are certainly off the wall (yes, pun fully intended). I might just have to put in an order for one of these bejewelled, bewitching beauties.
