Chambers Farm Flowers, Marden

All of their flowers are grown without harsh chemicals and they use sustainable farming methods so their flowers are safe to use on both wedding cakes and cocktails. Brides can choose to have a full service wedding where Chambers Farm Flowers can creative and deliver all of your flowers or you can choose to have just the key elements like bouquets or even DIY buckets of flowers for you to arrange as table decorations. Perfect option for both creatives and those on a budget.

Flower & Glory, Sevenoaks

Deborah Arpino is a florist and stylist which is a magical mix in the world of flowers. Over the past 25 years, she has developed a distinctive look that is inspired by her love of flora, fauna and France – funnily enough. Driven by her passion of finding unusual decorative objects and combining them with beautiful flowers, plants and candles, Deborah can help you create the perfect floral vision for your day regardless of whether it is a small and intimate affair or a big old ho-ha of a party.

Sue Davies Flowers

Super-talented Sue is the flower power house behind this florist and really knows her ‘stuff’ having worked in the industry for years. Her life-long style of using informal, wild, garden and hedgerow flowers and greenery has come full-circle with current wedding flower trends, growing many varieties herself for summer picking. Whether you are looking for flowers to adorn your venue, church, marquee, or simply looking for just bouquets, she will guide you through to ensure that all your expectations come to fruition beautifully. And what is more, should you be scurrying off to a beach to get hitched, Sue can make you beautifully crafted artificial wedding flowers to take with you!

Left to right, clockwise: The Floral Madam, Lily and Myrtle, Johnny’s Little Sister and Blooming Green Flowers.

Lily and Myrtle, Horsmonden

Lisa at Lily and Myrtle in Kent (there’s both a Kent and Surrey florist) is passionate about what she does. Working closely with clients to create stylish bespoke floral displays for all occasions Lisa takes a modern approach to providing a traditional service. She’s also a supplier for both Sprivers and Penshurst Place – two lovely local venues.

Johnny’s Little Sister, Sevenoaks

Johnny’s Little Sister is a family-run business based in Sevenoaks who believe that beautifully arranged flowers make for uniquely beautiful moments  and with that in mind, they only take on a limited number of weddings every year to ensure that they fulfil each and every floral detail. They are a stylish bunch (ho ho) and you will find many interesting pieces from vintage jugs and vases, in which to place your blooms, and style out your big day.

Blooming Green, Maidstone

Why not try something totally different for your wedding that is also a little kinder to our planet. Head to Blooming Green, just outside Maidstone, where they specialise in cut flowers that are organically grown and have a tiny carbon footprint. Or PYO flowers where you can wander through an acre of flowers, picking your own.  They’ll also be able to provide everything from your bouquet, buttonholes, table decorations – to flowers for the church with guaranteed gorgeous, freshly picked flowers. Sounds like a plan to me.

Floral Madam, Macknade’s

The Floral Madam is a recent and very welcome addition to Macknade Fine Food hall in Faversham and they are known for their unusual and high end cut flowers. They have a wide range of cacti, succulents and plants (very on trend dontcha know), mixed with stems for some alternative yet still stunning wedding-themed concepts. Helpfully, they provide a creative mood board that reflects your floral preferences post your consultation and this matches the season’s availability. Note of warning, you will not walk away empty-handed as you have to stroll through a mouth-watering display of food to get there…

Leigh Roberts Salon in Tunbridge Wells. Photography by: Mollie Manning

Leigh Roberts, Tunbridge Wells

Recently voted top hair salon in Kent in our Muddy awards, it is no surprise to learn that Leigh is nicknamed the ‘King of the Blondes’ due to his rep as an award-winning colourist for the past 30 years.  But Leigh and his team also do weddings pretty damn well too. Whether it’s the classic hair-up look or something more catwalk-inspired, they will advise you on everything you need to complete your look – make-up included (exclusive outlet for Shu Uemura don’t you know…).  By prior arrangement you can book the entire salon exclusively for your private use or, if you prefer, they can come to you.

Caisters, Hawkhurst Caisters is a family-run, friendly salon in Hawkhurst that offers great haircuts without the pretension. Think rural approachability at its best. They have an experienced team of stylists who understand that as enjoyable as weddings are, the build-up and planning can be very stressful so it’s a bit like going to chat to your friend about your big day who just happens to be very talented with their hands, a bottle of hair spray and one of two kirby grips.

The Beauty Bar, Wadhurst

Close to Wadhurst station, converted from the newly renovated Old Antiques Shop, you’ll find this smart and sociable salon. Founder Emma Griffiths believes catching up with friends, a glass of your choice and a good looking set of nails are amongst the best things in life, which is why she’s brought them all together. And that sounds like a pretty good mantra to me for the start of your wedding day. With tonnes of wedding packages on offer – The Beautiful Bride (make-up, make-up trial, blow dry, nails, tan, brows and lashes PLUS course of three facials leading up the big day) gets my vote.
