Pamper day? Four luxe London wellbeing destinations
Feeling frazzled? London day trips aren't just for shopping/drinking/sightseeing - get thee to the city for a turbo-charged wellbeing fix.
When is a spa not a spa? When it’s a super-cool, highly Instagrammable wellbeing destination, that’s when! There’s a whole crop of these sexy spaces sprouting up in London and they’re perfect if you’re looking for a day out in the Smoke that doesn’t involve hedonism or shopping – yes, such a thing is possible. Spend a day recharging your batteries at one of these and make your January a little bit less rubbish.
Glow Bar, Marylebone
Head here to try beauty editors’ current favourite treatment, the infrared sauna – apparently they’re better for you than the traditional option. They feel more gentle but have added benefits such as boosting collagen production and lowering cortisol. You can also loll on the très chic millennial pink and green mid-century modern furniture, then feast on a CBD croissant and moon milk in the café. Gwyneth would be proud.

We’ve had the pleasure of hosting many fantastic events in our space, and watch it fill with people. The beauty of our light, open venue is that it provides a blank canvas, allowing you to bring the event you envisage to life. Most recently @live.like.louise transformed the space for their first ever live event. They created such an inspirational environment for everyone who came, and it was an incredible day full of fitness, talks and community. Swipe to see the transformation. If you’re looking for a venue for your next event, head to our website to find out more about the two spaces we offer. #venuehire #mindfulvenue
This airy studio in West London overlooks the river and has tonnes of classes (yoga for stress is launching this month). Then there’s treatments such reiki, ‘creative flow’ workshops (mindful weaving, anyone?), art exhibitions (they have artists in residence) and a veggie café.
Gazelli House, Chelsea
Gazelli began life 20 years ago as a luxe skin care line developed by genetic scientist, Dr Zarifa Hamzayeva. Now the brand has an elegant three-storey Georgian townhouse which offers a vast range of treatments from facials to dream therapy (er?) to massage for cancer patients. There’s also a lifestyle shop and a programme of evening talks and workshops. And you can always pretend it’s your house when posting on social media.
Can you sneak away for an overnighter? Inhabit is London’s first “mindful” hotel. Check in and zone out with morning sessions at the meditation station, guided nature walks (presumably not around the Edgware Road), a fermentation workshop and a sound bath with Tibetan singing bowls (nope, us neither). But it sure sounds more fun than trekking to the Science Museum with small children.
