<p>Recently, I had the pleasure of enjoying an afternoon tea followed by an overnight stay, and it was truly a treat for the senses. Let&#8217;s dive in.</p>

<p>Afternoon tea at Chilston Park is a quintessential British experience that should not be missed. Served in the hotel’s elegant Marble Lounge from 12:30 &#8211; 3:30pm. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with plush seating and lovely views of the manicured gardens. </p>

<p>It’s wonderful to see they cater to a wide range of dietary needs, including vegan and gluten-free options. The selection of loose-leaf teas is impressive, with an option to elevate the experience with a glass of Champagne. For families, there’s even a dedicated Children’s Afternoon Tea, ensuring everyone in the gang can enjoy this special treat.</p>

<p>We began tucking into our tiered cake stand laden with an assortment of delicate finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones, and an array of pastries and cakes that looked almost too good to eat. The sandwiches were a delightful mix of traditional fillings and each bite was fresh and flavourful.</p>

<p>Next came the scones, which were simply divine and served with clotted cream and strawberry jam, an indulgent combination that epitomises the classic afternoon tea experience. Finally (and we barely had any room left!) we indulged in the sweet treats, all washed down by English Breakfast Tea. </p>



<p>Whether you are hosting a baby shower for your favourite mum-to-be or marking another trip around the sun, Chilston Park&#8217;s Afternoon Tea is the perfect place to celebrate. </p>

<p>After our delightful afternoon tea, we retired upstairs to our room via the grand staircase &#8211; what an entrance! We stayed in the Oriental Room which was spacious and beautifully decorated, filled with curios from Asia. The antique furniture, fabrics and intricate ceiling created the perfect space for relaxation and a great night&#8217;s sleep.</p>

<p>The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the room was equipped with all the amenities you could wish for &#8211; a TV, complimentary Wi-Fi, and a well-stocked tea and coffee station. The large windows overlooked the expansive gardens, providing a lovely tranquil view.</p>

<p>In the morning, we enjoyed a hearty breakfast in Culpeper’s restaurant, with options ranging from a full English breakfast to avocado on sourdough (our personal choice) and there were continental options available like cereals, fresh fruit, pastries and natural yoghurt. The quality of the food was exceptional, and the service was attentive.</p>
