<p>Beyond the physical environment at KYN, residents’&nbsp;food and nutrition&nbsp;has received the same level of detailed planning and care.&nbsp;Award-winning chef Tristan Welch (pictured above) has designed daily changing menus working alongside expert nutritionist Eva Humphries with an emphasis on fresh, seasonal ingredients and satisfying flavours tailored to residents&#8217; palates and nutritional needs. </p>



<p>Menus and service are delivered to five-star hotel standards by a dedicated hospitality team, whether a resident is eating in the privacy of their own room, at whatever time they choose, or settling down for an intimate lunch or dinner with family and friends.</p>

<p>While there&#8217;s a very high ratio of staff at KYN Bickley, they have also incorporated the very latest tech for making the lives of all residents as comfortable as possible. For example, at KYN they use a Resident Monitor which consists of sensors and AI to monitor residents alone in their rooms at night. </p>



<p>The AI technology uses a resident&#8217;s acoustic and motion data to learn their typical sound and movement patterns. It alerts carers when residents call for help, are awake and active, coughing, unusually restless, or in discomfort and instantly notifies the team when residents require care.</p>



<p>Infrared technology&nbsp;above the resident’s bed, without giving off any lights, can alert the care team when a resident has left the bed intentionally, or even fallen. &nbsp;It&#8217;s all impressive stuff &#8211; and ensures the team can act quickly when needed or are on standby to help mitigate any risks.</p>
