Bridge Arms, Canterbury

A family friendly, cosy pub, with a delicious menu from Michelin starred chefs in a village setting – with a gorgeous beer garden and play area too. Yes, this is a corker!

THE VIBE

Looking for a family friendly, cosy country pub with a delicious Michelin star menu to boot? May we introduce The Bridge Arms (recently transformed by the duo behind the Fordwich Arms – Dan and Natasha Smith). Nestled in the beautiful village of Bridge, situated within the Nailbourne Valley, The Bridge Arms was originally a coaching inn and dates back to the 16th century. For chilly winter days hunker down in The Grade II listed beamed building with roaring fires. Enjoy warmer summer days in the outside bar and garden.

BACKGROUND

Daniel and Natasha have some pretty impressive chef credentials. Daniel was named Observer‘s Young Chef of the Year in 2016 and he has worked at some of the country’s leading restaurants including Jason Atherton’s group and Michelin starred The Clove Club. Natasha has worked at Michelin starred restaurants Chapter One in Kent and One Leicester square. She was also appointed top pastry chef at events company Rocket in London.

THE MENU

The concept created by Daniel, Natasha and Head Chef Josh is very much centered around a seasonal, local offering that is family friendly and cooked using a charcoal Josper oven. Favourites include roast saddle of Blackface lamb served with morels, turnip, black garlic and kale or delicious Josper grilled native lobster, with carrot and chervil. Wash this down with a glass of wine from the extensive wine menu (or for those that partake, there is even a cigar menu).

STAY

The Bridge Arms is perfectly situated for a family friendly mini break. Stay at the recently renovated Arms Cottage, enjoy a delicious lunch or dinner and explore the nearby City of Canterbury, just 2.5km away.
