Canterbury Roman Museum, Canterbury

Found in the heart of Canterbury’s historic centre, the Canterbury Roman Museum is Kent’s only Roman Museum; providing a fascinating and family-friendly insight into life in Roman Britain.

FAMILY FUN & LEARNING

Explore Canterbury’s history around the remains of an original Roman Town House and Scheduled Ancient Monument. Discover one of the UK’s only remaining in situ Roman pavement mosaics – as well as the remains of an ancient underfloor heating system – and a Scheduled Ancient Monument.

Visitors can explore Canterbury’s history, wander through the marketplace and discover hidden treasures as they step back, and down, to the streets of Roman Canterbury.

FOR HISTORY LOVERS

The collection includes items of national and international significance, such as an Iron Age helmet that was declared one of the key finds of 2012 by the British Museum for being the finest example of its kind found in Britain. Remarkable items of jewellery, glassware, silverware and pottery also make up our expansive collection.
