You may well recognise The Historic Dockyard Chatham from the tele – it has featured heavily on Call The Midwife as well as other film and TV and it now offers official Call the Midwife tours!
Over 400 years old, Chatham Historic Dockyard continues to put on a packed calendar of events designed to entertain all ages in your family. Muddy kids, plus their friends, have always loved it here when we’ve taken them around the 80 acre site (which includes 2 guided tours, 3 historic ships, temporary exhibitions, galleries, gardens and more…)
SO MUCH TO SEE AND DO
Set sail on your voyage of discovery and immerse yourself in Command of the Oceans & Hearts of Oak digital theatre. Travel through time to 1806 and learn about Lord Nelson – a Chatham hero! Swing through the hatches on HM Submarine Ocelot – the only British submarine you can explore in Kent! Explore main deck on the Victorian sloop, HMS Gannet and stand on the open bridge of HMS Cavalier.
Every year sees new events and exhibitions – and highlights coming up include the Medway Gaming Festival. There’s also the stylish Salute to the ’40s – a vintage extravaganza.
2025 EXHIBITION
Set sail for an unforgettable voyage through history as Brickwrecks: Sunken Ships in LEGO® Bricks makes its spectacular debut at The Historic Dockyard Chatham — and it’s all included with your annual admission ticket. Created in partnership with the Australian National Maritime Museum and the Western Australian Museum, this extraordinary exhibition breathes life into legendary shipwrecks with jaw-dropping LEGO® creations crafted by Certified Professional Ryan “The Brickman” McNaught. From the ill-fated Titanic to the ancient Uluburun, these colossal models (some up to three metres long!) capture centuries of maritime drama. But that’s not all – dive into hands-on activities, uncover the secrets of underwater archaeology, and even build your own shipwreck masterpiece.
