The Leicester Arms Hotel

A brilliantly located pub in the heart of Penshurst village, with a view of the entrance to Penshurst Place from the front and stunning fields from the beer garden at the back. Offering decent grub and boutique bedrooms – it’s one for over-nighters and locals alike…

The Leicester Arms Hotel has been at the heart of Penshurst village for several centuries, once forming part of the Penshurst Estate. It is loved by locals, ramblers, cyclists, local businesses and over-nighters alike.

With lots of great events in the pipeline under new General Manager, Michelle, this pub is very much involved in the local community but also attracts as many visitors from across Kent or surrounding counties and London.

Dogs are welcome (you’ll find doggie biscuits on the bar) and the inevitable pile of walker boots outside the front all contribute to the cosy, friendly vibe of this pub. Inside you’ll find a mix of modern and traditional – there’s no big farrow and ball makeover here – most of the period charm and character has been retained.

The Leicester Arms Hotel has 12 rooms for over-night guests – which similarly have all retained their charm while being cosy and comfortable.

Planning a big birthday or gathering? The Leicester Arms Hotel can cater for all types and sizes of function. Whether you are looking for an intimate dinner or celebration – there’s a gorgeous Private Dining Room, or for bigger events, like weddings or corporate get togethers you can arrange exclusive use of the entire hotel. The hotel can tailor a personalised menu to suit any occasion and guests can stay in one of the wonderful rooms of course.

They’re experienced in hosting weddings, which is lucky as they are opposite a simply stunning church. A wedding planner service is available, should you want it. Whether you are looking for an intimate affair in the Private Dining Room, a relaxed reception in the beautiful garden or exclusive use of the entire hotel and rooms for your big day – there’s lots of options here.

The spacious superior double rooms have four poster beds and the luxury room can be arranged as a double or a twin room with beautiful views and plenty of space for a couple wanting a romantic weekend, or a family looking for a value for money stay.
