Made in Ashford, Ashford

Shop sustainably and locally at Made in Ashford. We love this creative hub for local artisans.

THE LOCATION

In a time when we are all looking to do our bit, shop locally and sustainably, we are really excited to discover Made in Ashford. A base for creative businesses in Kent to sell their products in a collective shop and online. Situated in Park Mall in Ashford the store promotes creativity in a welcoming and inclusive buzzy space.

THE LOWDOWN

Made in Ashford has been running since 2015. It started as a pop-up shop run by good friends Lucy and Melissa and with the support of Ashford Borough Council. Fast forward seven years and the shop is now the permanent home to over 70 handmade Kent businesses and creatives.

The store is home to a gorgeous collection of handcrafted goodies and is a great source of inspiration for unique gifts. Choose from craft kits, jewellery, health and beauty products, clothing, cards and homeware. We love the Stare Well gallery space and Bare Bazaar, selling plastic free goods.

THE CRAFTSHIP

Made in Ashford has recently launched The Craftship, a creative hub. This is the perfect space to host workshops, pop-up galleries and community groups. There are daily activities and workshops for creative types of all ages. Drop by after school for art and sketching clubs or bring your small people to the story, craft and play sessions. There are some fantastic workshops including pottery painting, wreath making and even a drum and percussion workshop.

They also have a pre-loved craft store, selling donated quality craft items and the funds help to subsidise free creativity in the community.

This is a unique shopping experience and collaborative social enterprise. What a great opportunity to support all those local artisans and to spend some creative time as part of a community.
