THE LOWDOWN

Situated in Sissinghurst, a picturesque corner of Kent, The Milk House is a village pub at the heart of the community. A former 16^th century hall house, with timber beams and a Tudor fireplace, the bar is popular with loyal locals, along with visitors from further afield, offering cask ales from Kentish breweries and a wide selection of wines including our local vineyards. Plus the Milk House theme is very nicely played out here with decorative churns by the door, various dairy themed objets dotted around the property as well as amusing play-on-word signs dotted around the place.

EAT & DRINK

Their large, airy dining room lends itself to a relaxed dining experience where you can expect excellent quality produce, prepared and cooked onsite and served directly to your table. Their menu is sourced from as many artisan and local producers as possible plus there’s always vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options. So rest assured you’ll always find something mem-moo-rable.

In addition to their large dining room, during the Summer months there is a large terrace and garden where you can enjoy wood fired pizzas dining al fresco.  There are often live music events and this year they will be celebrating 10 years of Milk Fest, a musical weekend of family fun, hosted every August bank holiday.

STAY

There are also four bedrooms upstairs, aptly named Churn, Dairy, Buttery and Byre. Spacious and light, these have been styled to feel relaxing and home-from-home, with comfortable beds, luxurious en-suite bathrooms and scenic views of the village and surrounding orchards.

It’s super stylish with lots of nearby attractions on its doorstep making it the perfect place to lay your head after a long day of exploring.
