But how do you arrange a viewing for a house that’s not yet finished, against a backdrop of a health pandemic? Here’s all the inside intel you need to know!

1. VIRTUAL TOURS

To get an overview of the layout of the area, streets and type of houses you can take a virtual tour. These 3D, highly realistic viewings are the next best thing to driving around in your car (or flying over in your helicopter, dahling). Just take a look and see what we mean.

2. RESEARCH THE AREA

Here you are just over two miles from Ashford and its International Train Station. The high speed train will get you into London St. Pancras in only 36 mins. In the other direction the Channel Tunnel is less than 15 miles away and you can be in Paris in less than two hours, mon chéri. Or stay in the UK and enjoy the beach which is only 20 mins by car, for a day trip to Folkestone or Hythe.

The Hamlet is part of the Ashford Garden City housing development known as New Chilmington Green. This will feature multi-use sports pitches, cycle ways, footpaths, cricket pitches, its own High Street and market square with cinema, shops, bars and restaurants alongside four Primary schools and a Secondary School. 3. CGIs

CGIs, or computer generated images, are incredibly detailed and life-like. Here’s the interior of The Nightingale ( Plot 23 ) at The Hamlet, Chilmington Green, which will be very similar in style and specification to Plot 46, The Housemartin, which will be the 4 bedroom show home on the development, opening early 2021.

These CGI images really bring to life how homes look when complete. A good level of detail in the finishing touches comes as standard, like log burners or bi-fold doors into the garden from the kitchen/lounge. And, even better, if you reserve your house early enough then you can request your own curated finishes, chosen by you, like choices for kitchens, tiling and flooring.

4. SHOW HOME TOURS

Want to see something in the flesh? (Or, er, bricks and mortar)… Tours of the show home at another Jarvis Homes site, in Cranbrook, can be made by appointment – as the spec is very similar. So you can get a feel for the flow of the house, size of bedrooms, finishing details, kitchen space, poke your heads in a few cupboards, flush a few loos – that kind of thing.

5. PEACE OF MIND

Whenever viewings do take place, to be as safe as they can during the Covid crisis, Jarvis Homes are using a service called Bio Genie, a 3-point cleaning system that will be used daily throughout the property. It is a 2-phase cleaing system combining hydrogen peroxide and silver to clean, disinfect and protect all the surfaces with a biofilm leaving them 99.9% germ free. That sounds like a whole lot of science stuff but good to know that your safety is a priority.
