Win an unforgettable Late Lunch experience at Quex Gardens

Long, lazy lunches taste better in a garden, and this reader treat is your invitation to one of Kent’s most magical hidden settings. One lucky reader will win an exclusive Late Lunch for two in the historic walled garden at Quex House & Gardens, home of the Powell-Cotton Museum, created in partnership with Green Michelin-starred Angela’s of Margate, plus a year-long joint membership to enjoy the attraction again and again.

Set within Quex’s beautifully restored Victorian walled garden, these intimate summer gatherings celebrate the very best of the season. Surrounded by heritage walls, glasshouses and flourishing beds of fruit, vegetables and flowers, this is garden-to-table dining in its purest form.

Your experience begins with a relaxed stroll through the gardens before lunch, where Head Gardener Sue Harris and Chef Rob Cooper invite guests behind the scenes of the growing season. Discover what’s being harvested that very week, learn how the menu evolves directly from the soil, and see first-hand how collaboration between gardener and chef shapes every dish served.

Then it’s time for the main event, a leisurely three-course seasonal vegetarian lunch inspired entirely by what’s at its peak in the garden. Expect thoughtful cooking in beautiful surroundings and even a curated wine flight will complete the experience.

But the treat doesn’t end there. The winner will also receive a one-year joint membership to Powell-Cotton Museum and Quex House & Gardens, unlocking unlimited entry for a year, discounts on events and dining experiences, savings in the museum shop and Felicity’s Café, plus reduced admission to Quex Adventure Farm Park and Quex Adventure Golf.

Recently crowned Best Produce Garden at the Kent Life Garden Awards 2025, Quex Gardens is entering an exciting centenary year, with outdoor theatre, creative workshops, family wellbeing days and new exhibitions bringing fresh energy to this historic landscape all summer long.

Four runners-up won’t go home empty-handed either, each will win a one-year joint membership to Quex House & Gardens and the Powell-Cotton Museum.

So, if your idea of summer bliss involves beautiful gardens, seasonal food and an afternoon that unfolds at its own gentle pace, throw your hat in the ring by answering the question below.

All lunches take place on the last Sunday of the month: Sun 28 June, Sun 26 July, Sun 30 Aug and Sun 27 Sep from 2pm til 4pm.
