Featuring a 17-piece orchestra, a 34-strong cast singing and dancing to a gorgeous score by George and Ira Gershwin – this is musical theatre at its finest!&nbsp;</p>

Let’s be honest that’s the only way to get the kids to see this, but luckily the cast of&nbsp;<strong><em>Bleak Expectations</em></strong>&nbsp;are banishing all those bad memories of studying Dickens with this hilarious riff on his many well known tomes. Based on the popular radio series by Mark Evans, this&nbsp;<em>Monty Python</em>-esque production will have you all laughing in the aisles.&nbsp;</p>

There’s a killer on the loose and several jumpy strangers are snowed into a remote countryside guesthouse, is one of them the killer or are they paranoid for no reason…?Celebrating a whopping 70 years on stage,&nbsp;<strong><em>The Mousetrap</em></strong>&nbsp;is a great shout if musicals and breaking into song isn’t your family’s thing.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Like being in a lock-in at your own local, (seriously there is a working bar on stage),&nbsp;<strong><em>The Choir of Man</em></strong>&nbsp;is a band of multi-talented guys combining spoken word poetry, tap dancing, music, folk, pop and rock tunes for a feel good show about community. A smash worldwide with a dozen of accolades to its name including an Olivier nomination, everyone will enjoy a drink at The Jungle pub with these lads.&nbsp;</p>

Out in space, the Smeds and the Smoos aren’t friends, but when a young Smed and Smoo fall in love, will it tear the community apart or unite them forever? Like a PG&nbsp;<em>Westside Story</em>, it’s colourful, crazy and perfect rainy day viewing of littlies.</p>

<p>From out of space to the depths of the forest in another of Julia Donaldson’s books to get the stage treatment.&nbsp;<em><strong>Tales from Acorn Wood</strong></em>&nbsp;is like being in an immersive pop-up book where kids will enjoy helping Fox find his socks and play hide-and-seek with Pig and Hen. With gorgeous puppetry and sing a long songs this is a great introduction to theatre for youngsters.</p>

<p>We all know the story of Elsa and Anna and all the songs (on repeat), but if you’ve not had chance to see the West End show yet, it’s well worth it. Even the most begrudging members of the audience can’t deny that the props (come on, look at the details on the reindeer!), imagery and special effects are sensational. A magical production.</p>

<p>Judith Kerr’s tea loving tiger is back on the stage and just in time for kids week (hurrah). This family favourite is packed with plenty of magic, songs to sing along to and all kinds of chaos.&nbsp;</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><em><a href="https://officiallondontheatre.com/venue/southbank-centre/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The SpongeBob The Musical</a></em>, Southbank Centre, Waterloo</h3>



<p>SpongeBob and the gang (which includes Gareth Gates of&nbsp;<em>Pop Idol</em>&nbsp;fame playing Squidworth) are trying to stop an underwater volcano from erupting in this colourful stage adaptation of the popular cartoon. Though the theme tune will undoubtedly get stuck in your head, it will be worth it for the happy kids afterwards, (said hopefully).</p>

<p><em>Hello Dears</em>&nbsp;– a trip to see this lovable cross dressing granny is always a good idea. Based on the film, this stage production of&nbsp;<strong><em>Mrs Doubtfire</em></strong>&nbsp;will have everyone in stitches.&nbsp;</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><em><a href="https://officiallondontheatre.com/show/the-play-that-goes-wrong-228430/?fromSale=KW&amp;month=08%2F23" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Play That Goes Wrong</a>,</em>&nbsp;Duchess Theatre, Covent Garden&nbsp;</h3>



<p>Now the longest running comedy in the West End,&nbsp;<em>The Play That Goes Wrong&nbsp;</em>is slapstick at it’s finest. The Cornley Drama Society are putting on a murder mystery show and as the title of the play alludes, everything that can go wrong, does – prop mishaps, unconscious cast members, fire. Absolutely hilarious and another good choice if you want to avoid musicals.</p>

<p>Defy gravity with another steadfast show on the West End. For those not in the know,&nbsp;<strong><em>Wicked</em></strong>offers a fresh perspective on events in&nbsp;<em>The Wizard of Oz</em>, telling things from the point of view of the not so Wicked Witch of the West. A fantastic production which will certainly get you all in the mood for the up and coming movie starring Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo and Jonathan Bailey.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Speaking of the&nbsp;<em><strong>Wizard of Oz</strong></em>, follow the yellow brick road to the&nbsp;<strong>Palladium</strong>&nbsp;for a more traditional and might we add star-studded production of the famous story. Jason Mamford is on the prowl for some courage as the Lion and Ashley Banjo is busting some robotic moves as the Tin Man without a heart.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Though John Travolta and Olivia Newton John will always be the Danny and Sandy for us, the cast of&nbsp;<em><strong>Grease The Musical&nbsp;</strong></em>(which includes Peter Andre, Jason Donavan<em>&nbsp;and</em>&nbsp;Louise Redknapp) do a grand job of keeping all the teenage angst of Rydell High alive. Featuring all your favourite hits –&nbsp;<em>You’re The One That I Want, Greased Lightnin’, Summer Nights</em>&nbsp;– Grease will always be the word.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Another super star cast can be seen at the Gielgud Theatre&nbsp;where Arthur Miller’s chilling masterpiece about the Salem witch hunts returns to the West End. Catch Milly Alcock&nbsp;(<em>House of the Dragon</em>),&nbsp;Caitlin FitzGerald&nbsp;(<em>Succession</em>) and<strong>&nbsp;</strong>Brian Gleeson&nbsp;(<em>Bad Sisters</em>) in this gripping production which is sure to score you some brownie points with your moody teen.</p>

<p>Looking for something on the lighter side then you can’t go wrong with a spot of ABBA.&nbsp;<strong><em>The Way Old Friends Do</em></strong>&nbsp;tells the story of two friends who form the world’s first drag ABBA tribute act. Aside from the glorious Agnetha wigs, platform boots and lycra unitards (pictured), it’s a beautiful story about friendship and acceptance that plays out to a familiar soundtrack. Written and starring Ian Hallard and directed by Mark Gatiss, the show also features the voices of Miriam&nbsp;Margolyes and Paul O’Grady – definitely one for you and your dancing Queen’s to watch.</p>
