<p>Maggie Gyllenhaal is serving up what might be 2026’s wildest slice of cinema with&nbsp;<strong><em>The Bride!</em></strong>&nbsp;– a gritty, bold reimagining of the&nbsp;<em>Bride of Frankenstein</em>. Set in a moody, noir-tinged 1930s Chicago, Jessie Buckley steps into the role of the resurrected bride, with Christian Bale as the creature who seeks her creation. Dark, strange and deliciously atmospheric, with a heavyweight support cast to boot – including Penélope Cruz, Annette Bening, Peter Sarsgaard, Julianne Hough and Jake Gyllenhaal – it ticks all the right boxes for a cinematic smash and we cannot wait!</p>

<p>Four years after we last doffed our flat caps to the Shelby clan,<strong><em>&nbsp;Peaky Blinders&nbsp;</em></strong>is officially returning in film form – and yes, we’re already obsessed (not least because Steven Knight is still at the helm). Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) emerges from self-imposed exile for a feature-length outing that promises higher stakes, darker demons and even sharper tailoring. With some seriously exciting new cast members joining the fray (hello Barry Keoghan, Tim Roth and Rebecca Ferguson), the Brummy mob boss is forced to face his most destructive reckoning yet – his son – as the future of both the Shelby family and the country hangs in the balance. Will Tommy confront his legacy… or burn it all to the ground? By order of the Peaky Blinders, we’ll be watching to find out.</p>

<p>Repping the kids this month is something shiny and new from Pixar which is big on heart, brains and, um, beavers. In<strong><em>&nbsp;Hoppers</em></strong>, scientists discover how to upload human consciousness into robotic animals to communicate with the natural world – and curious 19-year-old Mabel (voiced by Piper Curda) is first in line. Rebooted as a mechanical beaver, she plunges into the secret life of the wild, uncovering mysteries far bigger than she bargained for. Expect the usual slick visuals, sharp laughs and some classic Pixar emotional zing. Bonus: the voice cast is stacked, with Jon Hamm, Dave Franco, Heidi Klum&nbsp;<em>and&nbsp;</em>Meryl Streep bringing serious star power to the forest.</p>

<p>Action man of the moment, Glen Powell, is back doing what he does best – smirking his way through utter carnage in&nbsp;<strong><em>How to Make a Killing</em></strong>. In this jet-black comedy (loosely inspired by&nbsp;<em>Kind Hearts and Coronets</em>), Powell plays Becket Redfellow, the estranged black sheep of a wildly wealthy dynasty who decides to cut out his competition to a £28 billion inheritance. Permanently. Directed by John Patton Ford and co-starring Margaret Qualley, Ed Harris and Raff Law, this is sharp, stylish and deliciously unhinged. Think&nbsp;<em>Succession</em>, but with a higher body count.</p>

<p>We’re fully enjoying the Danny Dyer-aissance (thanks&nbsp;<em>Rivals</em>), and this one feels tailor-made for everyone’s favourite cockney geez. In&nbsp;<strong><em>One Last Deal</em></strong>, Dyer plays Jimmy Banks, an old-school football agent with his back firmly against the wall. His mission? Secure one final mega payday for his star client before both their reputations implode. The twist: it all unfolds almost entirely inside Jimmy’s office, turning the film into a fast-talking, sweat-inducing pressure cooker of wheeling, dealing and moral tightropes. It’s sharp, claustrophobic and pure Dyer – swagger, grit and rapid-fire negotiation. ‘Ave it!</p>

<p>If you know&nbsp;Colleen Hoover, you’ll know this won’t be a light watch *grabs tissues*. This time around it’s her 2022 emotional gut punch of a novel,&nbsp;<strong><em>Reminders of Him</em></strong>, which gets the big screen treatment. It sees Kenna (Maika Monroe) returning home determined to rebuild her life after a tragic accident sent her to prison. But small towns have long memories, and as she finds out, forgiveness doesn’t come easy. Tyriq Withers,&nbsp;Lauren Graham,&nbsp;Bradley Whitford and Nicholas Duvernay round out the cast in this tender, messy and unapologetically heartfelt watch.</p>

In&nbsp;<em><strong>The Good Boy</strong></em>, he’s the terrifying architect of a twisted experiment. 19-year-old Tommy (<em>MobLand</em>‘s Anson Boon), loves parties, drugs and chaos – until one night he wakes up chained in the basement of Chris’ (Graham) suburban home. Alongside his near-spectral wife (Andrea Riseborough), Chris puts Tommy through relentless mind games, forcing him to confront his own recklessness and rehabilitate, or pay the ultimate price. Directed by Academy Award-nominated&nbsp;Jan Komasa, this dark thriller is gripping, relentless and impossible to look away from – a masterclass in tension and unease.</p>

Pure, glossy, nostalgic escapism, and we are here for it.</p>
