<p>OK, we get it, another comic-book flick? Yawn, right? But hold up. This isn’t just any superhero reboot. For a start it stars the magnetic Pedro Pascal leading the earth saving charge as Mister Fantastic. Everyone’s favourite on-screen charmer is stretching his talents (literally given his suit) in Marvel’s First Family debut in the MCU. Alongside Pascal, Vanessa Kirby plays the Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn (<em>Stranger Things</em>) is heating up as the Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach rocks the rocky role of The Thing. Plus, word on the rumour mill is Robert Downey Jr. might make a cameo as Doctor Doom – because why not? Could 2025 be the year comic-book movies get their cool back?</p>

<p>The UK’s Prime Minister (played by national treasure/idol-of-our-daydreams Idris Elba) and the US President (John Cena, equally muscular but slightly less smouldering) are embroiled in a macho political rivalry. But when someone blows up Air Force 1 and they make it out alive they’re forced into a reluctant bromance-on-the-run and have to stop trading testosterone-fuelled insults to team up with MI6’s sharpest mind (Priyanka Chopra Jonas) to save the free world. Ok it’s all slightly ridiculous but there’s high-octane action and lols a plenty and let’s be honest: Idris Elba could be reading the shipping news and we’d still swoon.</p>

<p>Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Nope its next gen Superman. Fresh from his stint chasing tornados in&nbsp;<em>Twisters</em>&nbsp;David Corenswet steps into the cape, while Nicholas Hoult enters his villain era trading his British charm for a bald cap and twisted chaos as Lex Luthor. With&nbsp;<em>Guardians</em>&nbsp;guru James Gunn steering the ship, this reboot promises less brooding, and way more boom. Expect action, angst, and jawlines that could cut glass. Whether you’re here for the plot, the popcorn or just the pretty, this one’s worth a watch, particularly if you’re going with the teens.</p>

<p>New island, new dinos (Mosasaurus anyone?), new existential threat to humanity. Yep,&nbsp;<em>Jurassic World</em>&nbsp;is back and this time we’re hoping they’ve done a better risk assessment. While the franchise hasn’t quite recaptured the T-Rex-shaped magic of the 1993 original (who could forget that super tense kitchen scene?),&nbsp;<em>Rebirth</em>&nbsp;looks ready to evolve with&nbsp;<em>Godzilla’s</em>&nbsp;Gareth Edwards at the helm. Scarlett Johansson does a brilliant Lara Croft-esque turn as covert operative, Zora Bennett, while&nbsp;<em>Bridgerton’s</em>&nbsp;breakout beau, Jonathan Bailey gets his palaeontologist geek on to play Dr Henry Loomis who’s on a mission to uncover the DNA of the island’s largest creature. Heart-racing drama, hungry dinosaurs and hot scientists? What’s not to love?</p>

Set on the scorching Spanish coast, what begins as a trip to seek healing unravels into a slow-burn exploration of dependency, desire and discovery. Enter free-spirited Ingrid (Vicky Krieps) to shake things up, and emotions start to boil over. Expect Mediterranean heat, mother-daughter meltdowns and emotional stings that linger longer than the sunburn.</p>

<p>Calling all&nbsp;<em>I Know What You Did Last Summer</em>&nbsp;fans? The cult classic slasher is back, 28 years later, and honestly, we’re still not sure we’re ready for the ride. The shiny, new sequel reunites Freddie Prinze Jr. and Jennifer Love Hewitt (who both look incredible, by the way) as Ray and Julie, alongside a fresh cast including Madelyn Cline, Chase Sui Wonders, and Jonah Hauer-King. If you missed the original, here’s the gist: four friends accidentally kill someone, dump the body at sea, and then spend the next year dodging a creepy fisherman who knows their deadly secret. The sequel flips the script with five friends involved in a hit-and-run, only to realise someone’s got their number too. To fight back, they turn to Julie and Ray, the only survivors of the ’97 nightmare. Bring popcorn, and maybe a friend to hold onto.</p>

<p><em>Happy Gilmore 2</em>&nbsp;is officially teeing off, and Adam Sandler is back in the golf-buggy driver’s seat. Set 30 years after the original, the sequel sees Happy returning to pick up the clubs in a bid to pay for his daughter, Vienna’s ballet school. It’s a family reunion on and off the screen: Julie Bowen (Modern Family), Christopher McDonald, Dennis Dugan, and Ben Stiller are all reprising their iconic roles, while Sandler’s real-life daughter Sunny joins the cast alongside new faces including Lavell Crawford – playing the son of Happy’s late mentor Chubbs (originally played by Carl Weathers, who sadly passed in 2024). Expect nostalgia, mayhem, and more golf-cart carnage than the PGA Tour would ever sanction. It’s not the humour for everyone, but if you fancy some comedic capers to combat the heaviness, it’s worth a go.</p>
