<p>Coleen Hoover’s emotional rollercoaster of a book, which has sold a cool million copies worldwide, has been given the big screen treatment and an injection of hotness thanks to Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni&nbsp;<em>and</em>&nbsp;Brandon Sklenar. Lively plays Lily Bloom, new in Boston pursuing business dreams where she meets the charming Ryle Kincaid (Baldoni) and falls in love,&nbsp;<em>aww</em>. But a chance meeting with a former flame Atlas (Sklenar) casts a shadow over their relationship, and so a volatile ménage is born. It’s not always easy viewing as those who have read the book will know, but whether you’re a die hard Hoover fan or in it for the eye candy, we’re sure&nbsp;<strong><em>It Ends With Us</em></strong>&nbsp;will be a hit.</p>

<p>There’s&nbsp;<em>soo</em>&nbsp;much star power behind this movie – Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Jamie Lee Curtis, Gina Gershon – you’ll easily forget it’s actually based on the mega hit shooter looter game,&nbsp;<strong><em>Borderlands</em></strong>. It follows a mismatched team of mercenaries on a mission to find the kidnapped daughter of a tyrannical despot. A mission which takes them across galaxies, battling aliens, dragons and bandits. Action-packed, a mile a minute and surprisingly funny. You’ll be pleased to know no prior gaming knowledge is needed to enjoy this riot of a watch.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Like&nbsp;<em>Homeward Bound</em>&nbsp;for Gen Alpha,<strong><em>&nbsp;Gracie and Pedro: Mission Impossible&nbsp;</em></strong>arrives just in time for some summer holiday cinema action. It tells the story of a pampered pooch and street cat who get separated from their owners at the airport and face the impossible challenge of finding their way home. For kids it’s a funny uplifting watch, for parents listen out for Bill Nighy, Susan Sarandon, Alicia Silverstone, Danny Trejo and Brooke Shields who are among the A-list voice overs.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A doting Dad (Josh Hartnett) takes his teen daughter to a sell-out pop concert only to find something sinister is a foot. The FBI are on the hunt for the Butcher, a serial killer they believe to be in the audience, gasp! Cue a classic M. Night Shyamalan twist, the doting Dad is actually the killer and you’re about to embark upon a tenser than tense escapade of him trying to evade capture. Featuring music by Saleka Shyamalan (yep, M. Knight’s daughter) this twisty-turny thriller will keep you on your toes until the very end, we’re particularly loving Hartnett as a baddie.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Pass the popcorn… and hide behind it for this one! We’ve stuck with the Ridley Scott/James Cameron’s&nbsp;<em>Aliens&nbsp;</em>franchise this far, so what’s another jump-out-of-your-skin fright between friends? Set between the events of&nbsp;<em>Alien</em>&nbsp;(1979) and&nbsp;<em>Aliens</em>&nbsp;(1986),<strong><em>&nbsp;Romulus</em></strong>&nbsp;sees a group of space colonists – Cailee Spaeny, David Jonsson, Isabela Merced, Archie Renaux – come face to face (literally) with a terrifying life form. Eek!</p>

<p>A slice of girl power, sticking it to the patriarchy&nbsp;<em>and</em>&nbsp;Champagne? Get in line to see&nbsp;<em><strong>Widow Clicquot</strong></em>! Based on the true story of Barbe-Nicole Ponsardin, perhaps best known as the Grande Dame of Champagne, who married into the Clicquot family, flouted convention by assuming control of their wine business after her husband died and through grit and determination revolutionised the Champagne industry. Cheers to that! Haley Bennet plays the Grand Dame with Tom Sturridge, Leo Suter, Ben Miles and Natasha O’Keefe joining her in this haunting, beautiful and inspiring film. No excuse needed to crack open the Veuve.</p>

<p>Things go bump in the night in this psychological thriller which marks Zoë Kravitz’s directorial debut. Channing Tatum plays enigmatic billionaire Slater King who invites a bunch of unwitting guests – Naomi Ackie, Adria Arjona, Alia Shawkat, Haley Joel Osment – to his private island for a vacation of dreams. But all is not what it seems when one of the guests disappears and no one can remember what happened from one day to the next. Tense, jumpy and unpredictable –&nbsp;<strong><em>Blink Twice</em></strong>&nbsp;if you don’t care about any of that and are only watching for Tatum’s abs!</p>

<p>Coleman Domingo – there are no words. The&nbsp;<em>Rustin&nbsp;</em>star plays an absolute blinder as John “Divine G” Whitfield, a man imprisoned in<strong><em>&nbsp;Sing Sing&nbsp;</em></strong>maximum security prison for a crime he did not commit. Here he finds purpose through the Rehabilitation Through the Arts program (an actual prison initiative) and the film follows the group as they stage their first original comedy. Featuring performances from real life former inmates, this is a story of resilience, humanity and the power of art. Beyond compelling.&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong><em>Close to You</em></strong>&nbsp;and close to home for Eliott Page who is absolutely breathtaking playing a trans man returning home for the first time since transitioning. Grappling with identity, the weight of others expectation this is gruelling stuff. Written and produced in part by Page and directed by Dominic Savage who is renowned for his focus on character – case and point&nbsp;<em>The Escape</em>&nbsp;and Channel 4’s<em>&nbsp;I am…</em>&nbsp;series – this is an emotional rollercoaster of a watch but worth sobbing into your popcorn for.</p>
