<p>Remember Carluccio&#8217;s on Mount Pleasant that has been derelict for ages? Well, come May it&#8217;ll be transformed into <a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="Bocca Social (opens in a new tab)" href="https://boccasocial.com" target="_blank">Bocca Social</a> &#8211; just in time for summer! Originally based in Beckenham, this Venetian restaurant will be the place to go for drinking, eating and socialising. We&#8217;re excited!</p>

<p>Breathe a sigh of relief for the celebrated gastropub, <a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="The Compasses Inn (opens in a new tab)" href="https://www.thecompassescrundale.co.uk" target="_blank">The Compasses Inn</a>, has been taken over by a new pair of hands &#8211; Michelin starred chef Ben Crittenden no less! Regular Muddy readers will already know all about his restaurant Stark in Broadstairs. Expect traditional pub food that&#8217;s expertly executed with phenomenal flavours, we&#8217;re in! They&#8217;ve also teamed up with Ben Duckworth, co-founder of South London’s Affinity Brew Co, who has selected an amazing range of craft ales, rare lagers and fine wines. We&#8217;ve also heard that their in-house brewery is under construction!</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">MOVIE IN MARGATE: Stars due to start filming at Dreamland</h2>

<p>Sam Mendes, the producer and director, who boasts blockbusters Skyfall, Spectre and 1917 among his films, is using Dreamland in Margate to shoot his next movie Lumière (Empire of Light).</p>



<p>First, back in December, they were calling for retro-looking extras that had fabulous 80s hair. And now filming is due to begin. Already a 20,000 sq ft sound stage has been installed on part of the theme park site and now planning applications have been submitted to Thanet council for temporary changes to the former cinema on the seafront.</p>



<p>The film will star The Crown&#8217;s Olivia Coleman, Love Actually actor Colin Firth and Star Wars actress Crystal Clarke, with filming due to start any day.</p>
