Suite dreams! 11 of the world’s most romantic hotel rooms
Check out these dream hotels perfect for Valentine’s Day and beyond. From a bed with a view of the Eiffel Tower to an off-grid beachside cabana in the Philippines, it’s time to activate the amour.
Eiffel Suite, Le Metropolitan, Paris
Any suite where you can gaze at the Eiffel Tower from your sofa/bed/bath is a winner in Muddy’s eyes. Bonus points for the oval window, which adds a certain je ne sais quoi, non?
Treehouse, Lion Sands Safari Lodge, South Africa
The ultimate night under the stars! You’re dropped off at sunset for a Champagne picnic then fall asleep to the sounds of the bush. Scared? Don’t be, because the treehouses are built high enough off the ground to ensure wild animals can’t nibble your toes (plus there’s a ranger a radio call away).
Penthouse, Ink48, New York
Heaven in Hell’s Kitchen! At Muddy’s little secret in the Big Apple you can see the city skyline and Hudson River, sip cocktails at the fabulous rooftop bar (one of the best places for sunset drinks we’ve ever been to), and the rooms have incredible views, particularly from the Penthouse terrace.
Canyon Villa, ALULa, Saudi Arabia
Hidden away in the remote Ashar Valley, it’s the Middle East’s most desirable desert destination. Romantic villas come with canyon views, private decks, king-sized beds, indoor outdoor showers and captivating canyon views.
Beach Cabana, South Tribe, Philippines
Barefoot living at its best. You’re a coconut’s throw from a hammock, beach and the sea, but would you really move from that bed? Probably not. We’d like to check into this rustic retreat for a month please.
Hideaway room, JK Place, Capri
Proof you don’t need to book the swankiest suite for a romantic getaway. JK Place Capri’s chic Hideaway rooms might not be as spacious as the penthouse, but we prefer their cosy coastal vibe, cute terrace-for-two and floor-to-ceiling windows framing a splendid view of the Bay of Naples. Gorgeous.
Devigarh Complex, RAAS Devigarh, India
Live out your fairytale princess fantasies at this 18th Century hilltop palace in the Aravalli Hills. Explore the courtyards, secret tunnels and turrets then head back to your suite for a rose petal bath at sunset.
Galaxy Sanctuary, Jade Mountain, St Lucia
The first thing you notice when you step into your sanctuary is the missing fourth wall – that’s right, you’re sleeping in the open air. The second is the unbelievable view of St Lucia’s two iconic mountains, Gros Piton and Petit Piton. Muddy visited recently, read the full review here!
Dogressa Suite, Hotel Cipriani, Venice
The fact you can see St Mark’s Square from your bed in the Dogressa Suite at the Belmond Cipriani is a good enough reason to include it in this list. That, and the fact it lies on its own island in the Venetian Lagoon, has celeb guests (oh ‘hi’ George and Amal Clooney) and a complimentary water taxi, so you can glide into town for a Bellini at Harry’s Bar, where the cocktail was originally invented.
Lagoon Room, Bacalar, Mexico
Swimming in a turquoise lagoon, spa treatments, drinks at the tree bar and long, lazy siestas together in a luxurious room with uninterrupted views of the water – sounds like couples Nirvana.
Casablanca Suite, L’Hôtel, Marrakech
There are just five bedrooms in Jasper Conran’s hip riad in the heart of the Medina. ‘Casablanca’, with its super-king four-poster swatched in Egyptian cotton linen and artisanal furniture, is the one to book for romance.
