Kent’s best Supper Clubs

If you’re looking for a unique dining experience then look no further than these Kent Supper Clubs! Date night with a difference? You are welcome.

Bangers&Balls

Bangers&Balls host of Supper Clubs and home of foodie revolutions. Expect banging ingredients and ballsy flavours – see where they came up with the name? They are on the journey against the ‘blandification’ of food with sustainable, local food at the heart with their creative chef Duncan Tinkler. Their Supper Clubs are far from boring, you’ll have to follow clues (top right) to your cocktails and canapés before taking your seats in the candle lit barn. Set on the beautiful Yew Tree Farm School in Bredgar where cheeky pygymy goats roam, chickens under foot and the sheep lazily grazing under the trees, it’s a beautiful setting! Their next one, The Magic Faraway Tree is on Fri 16 & Sat 17 Oct starting at 6:30pm, just in time for sunset. Can’t get a babysitter? Join their family-friendly Lunch Club on Sat 17 from 1:30 – 4pm with their Magic Faraway Tree Menu with a twist on the boozy items for the kids.

Tiny Table

Try this micro-dining experience! Run by Julie Friend (@kentcooking) who has been cooking professionally for over 20 years since winning MasterChef back in 1997. Tiny Table begun at the beginning of lockdown in Julie’s West Kent garden, when she lost all her business. As restrictions lifted, bespoke menus for up to 6 people created a lot of buzz! Since she’s collaborated with award-winning Mereworth Wines and Marourde.

Samsara

A magical retreat, located deep in the Kentish countryside, built with your relaxation at the forefront of their minds. Samsara is the place in Kent to go to unwind and reconnect with yourself. Owners Dipu and Lori regularly host workshops as well as mini retreats including their delicious monthly dinner club for Kent Foodies. Their most recent Supper Club was in partnership with Bathtub Gin (yes please!) and award-winning Kent Chef, Scott Goss. Guests enjoyed a 5-7 course taste menu, wine pairings throughout the evening and Bathub Gin cocktails. Keep an eye out for more of their events!

Alive With Flavour

Want to get hands-on with food and meet new people every month? The Alive with Flavour Supper Clubs is a fab chance to do just that! They meet regularly at interesting foodie venues but are recently meeting from the comfort of their own homes via Zoom. Go on try something new and join Alive With Flavour’s next Supper Club, Oct 7! Don’t miss ‘Fusion – when cultures and cuisine combine’ with Masterchef Finalist, ‘Fusion Queen’, Daksha Mistry who will be demonstrating a few delicious dishes via Zoom. Book your spot now.

The Curious Eatery

Curious indeed! This brilliant little restaurant is set up in what was a disused pub in Boughton Monchelsea. Run by sisters Lesley and chef Nicole (also known as Pixie) who has cooked for Richard Branson, this is tasty wholesome, unfussy food at its best. Oh, and you’ll definitely want to join in with their Secret Supper Clubs. They’ve held their exclusive dinners in some weird, wacky and wonderful locations over the years, from old-fashioned steam engines (top right picture) to fully functioning gin distilleries. A highlight from one of their Secret Supper Clubs was digging the food out of the ground at Roundoak in Sutton Valence (bottom left). Our top in-the-know tip is to follow them on Facebook and keep your eye out for when they release dates as they book up fast!

Green Farm

Nestled in the heart of the beautiful countryside, Green Farm Spa and Retreat offers bespoke wellness experiences in an exclusive natural setting. From Spa days, stays, yoga, meditation and woodland walks – bliss! Food is also a very important part of life at Green Farm and they are now running Monthly Supper Clubs! Launching this 3 Oct, enjoy the authentic taste of Italy with super chef, Stefania Mignemi at an exclusive pop-up supper club. Go on a journey around her beloved country via six of its most delicious wines, each paired with a mouth-watering Italian dish from starters to desserts. Book your spot for this under ‘Special Events’ here.

Deal Pier Kitchen

This fab eaterie at the end of Deal’s iconic pier is one of THE best spots to eat in town with fresh, organic food and you definitely don’t want to miss their new Steak & Lobster nights on Friday and Saturday nights. Featuring locally caught Lobster and prime Steaks from Chandler and Dunn, they are mega popular so book your table here. With tasty food, gorgeous views from the RIBA award-winning structure and a dedicated booze drinks list, why would you ever want to leave?

The Red Lion, Stodmarsh

This hidden gem of a pub encapsulates everything that we are about at Muddy – cool and quirky as well as being easy on the eye. Head Chef, John Young and Morgan Lewis are in charge here and they are hugely passionate about making every item from scratch, where possible. So you’ll always find new and fresh dishes, as the menus reflect the changing seasons and many of the food is foraged locally. So make sure you book their next Supper Club, offering a full seven course tasting menu featuring the wonderful produce in Kent plus a wine pairing with each food course. As you enjoy the steady stream of homemade goods coming your way, sit in the backdrop of candles and a roaring fire. For the menu click here and to make a reservation call: 01227 721339.
