<p><a href="https://www.squerryes.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Squerryes</a> has long been famed for its award-winning English sparkling wine, grown on chalk-rich soils that mirror Champagne’s own terroir. But it’s not just about what’s in the glass, Squerryes has evolved into a full-blown destination. Between the two AA Rosette Winery Restaurant and the Estate Deli &amp; Cellar Door, this has fast become <em>the</em> go-to spot no matter the occasion. </p>

<p>And now, launching this November, there’s a new way to savour Squerryes’ signature sparkle with their brand new Afternoon Tea. We got to be one of the first ones to try it (alongside Gloria Hunniford), and it&#8217;s definitely worth checking out. Christmas is calling after all.</p>

<p>Tucked between Edenbridge and Biggin Hill, Squerryes Estate is the epitome of Kentish charm. A 2,500-acre patchwork of vineyard, farmland, parkland and woodland that’s been home to the Warde family for over 300 years. The family motto, Licet Esse Beatis (“It is permitted to be joyful”), still echoes through everything they do. Nowhere is that more apparent than at their Winery Restaurant in Westerham, with great food and fine wine, this is Kent’s wine country at its finest.</p>

<p>We arrived to enjoy Afternoon Tea in the Tasting Bar, which overlooks neat rows of vines. It&#8217;s a sophisticated setting with floor-to-ceiling windows framing the changing seasons outside. </p>

<p>Head Chef Seamus brings the estate’s “field to fork” ethos to life, crafting dishes from produce grown, reared, or foraged on the Squerryes Estate and across the wider Garden of England. You&#8217;ll find only sustainable, seasonal dining which is perfectly paired with a glass (or two) of the estate’s award-winning English sparkling wine.</p>



<p>From comforting autumn plates to bright summer flavours, Squerryes is a place that celebrates each season in style. </p>

<p>Forget dainty sandwiches! This is Afternoon Tea, Squerryes-style. Presented in a handcrafted wooden box that looks like a miniature doll’s house, each “room” reveals a carefully curated canapé, making the whole experience feel like unwrapping a series of edible treasures.</p>

<p>Expect delicate savoury bites that showcase local produce, perfectly baked scones (naturally) with a choice of two preserves, and jewel-like patisserie pieces that wouldn’t look out of place in a gallery. Every element has been designed to surprise and delight.</p>

<p>Afternoon Tea is served Wednesday to Friday, with sittings between 2:30pm and 4:15pm, the perfect midweek indulgence. Available over autumn and winter, all bookings made and taken in&nbsp;November come with an introductory discount of <strong>£5pp off</strong> the standard price of £55pp. Vouchers are also available for an ideal Christmas gift experience via their online shop.</p>

<p>If you fancy lingering a little longer (and who could blame you?), the two AA Rosette restaurant beckons for a leisurely lunch (currently there&#8217;s a great value set menu lunch offer), elegant à la carte dinner, a small plates menu or hearty Sunday roast made with estate-reared ingredients. There are also winery tours and tastings, and special events throughout the year, so it’s easy to make a day of it.</p>

<p>Beyond the food and fizz, the estate invites exploration &#8211; footpaths, wildlife, and woodlands stretching across 2,500 acres, from the serene parkland surrounding Squerryes Court (a Bridgerton Season 3 filming location, no less) to the working Gaysham Vineyard along Pilgrims Way, where every bottle begins its journey.</p>

<p><strong>Good for:</strong> Indulgent midweek treats, long-overdue catch-ups or a special occasion (Christmas is incoming after all). Perfect for foodies, wine lovers, and those who appreciate the finer (and fizzier) things in life.</p>



<p><strong>Not good for:</strong> Big family outings or wriggly toddlers, Squerryes is best enjoyed when you can sit back, sip, and savour in peace.</p>
