<p>Kent College is an ISI ‘Excellent’ independent day and boarding school in Pembury, near Tunbridge Wells. The Nursery and Prep School are for boys and girls aged 3-11 years. The Senior School and Sixth Form are girls-only from 11-18 years.</p>



<p>Sitting along side the Senior school, in&nbsp;75 acres&nbsp;of beautiful countryside, means Kent College Prep also benefits from all the first-class facilities on site. These include a 250-seat theatre, all-weather astro, two sports halls, an indoor swimming pool and modern classrooms.</p>

<p>The Prep has&nbsp;its own carpark,&nbsp;hall (for assemblies and smaller performances), sports court (for netball and tennis),&nbsp;a smart school Reception area, music room, computer suite, and library. Pupils only have to walk a short distance to take advantage of the super duper extras the ‘big school’ has to offer.</p>

<p>In 2020 Kent College Prep began the transition to becoming a co-educational school by taking boys in the younger years and moving them up as they grew. However the Prep recently announced that boys are welcome to join ALL year groups from September 2025.</p>



<p>It&#8217;s a logical step and the school is more than ready. Since the decision to start taking boys almost five years ago, Kent College Prep has been hard at work enhancing the curriculum and extracurricular provision to ensure it is engaging, inspiring and meets the needs of all children, whilst adding appropriate facilities to ensure that boys are supported in all areas. </p>

<p>The curriculum, facilities and outdoor spaces make Kent College Prep a natural and ideal environment for both boys and girls to thrive and having these changes already in place will ensure the smooth and successful transition into a fully co-educational school.</p>

<p>There are many advantages to sharing the site with Kent College Senior School &#8211; particularly when it comes to grounds and facilities. As a result the Prep&#8217;s Outdoor Learning is particularly strong and the Multi Sports Curriculum is extensive. Here, children enjoy weekly swimming lessons all year round in the impressive, new indoor pool (pictured above), as well as netball, hockey, cricket, rugby, football, gymnastics and trampolining. </p>



<p>The Prep also champions mixed team fixtures and there are plenty of schools locally with a similar ethos &#8211; meaning there will be lots of opportunities for everyone and boys will be a very welcome addition to this thriving and active school.</p>

<p>Boys will be welcome to join the two final year groups (Years 5 and 6) from September 2025, to make the Prep school fully co-educational.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Head of Prep School, Mrs Salli Hall says: &#8216;This is an exciting time for us at Kent College Prep. Our experience of co-education thus far has been a real joy, and we have found that having boys in the younger years has enhanced rather than changed the school experience for all. This is a really positive move and one which we are all looking forward to.&#8217;</p>

<p>Teaching is tailored to each child and the curriculum is broad and varied with specialist teaching in Music, French, Drama, Dance, PE and Mandarin (in Year 6).</p>



<p>The Prep aims to support families throughout their time at the school and deliver a great education &#8211; this includes working closely with parents to choose the best Senior school fit for their child.</p>



<p>The school has an excellent history of success in the Kent Test, but many pupils also choose to stay on in the independent sector. Each child will be supported as an individual and encouraged to think about what is the best next move for them.</p>



<p>And, it&#8217;s fair to say, the opportunities are endless &#8211; from sports to creativity &#8211; with a huge variety of co-curricular clubs on at lunchtime and after school too. Families are incredibly well supported here, with the school operating a flexible Wrap Around Care offering. With both Breakfast Club and After School Club that can be taken up when required, the support is there as and when you need it.</p>

Take part in workshops and activities that showcase the first class performing arts provision, meet specialist teachers and see the fantastic facilities that the Prep pupils use. Suitable for children from 3-11 years.</li>
