<p>Hawkenbury&nbsp;is a small suburban village area located in the south east of Royal&nbsp;Tunbridge Wells (or Tunny Wells to locals). It&#8217;s a mere 1.2 miles from the town centre which has not one, but two community theatres at its heart &#8211; <a href="https://www.trinitytheatre.net" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Trinity Theatre</a> and the <a href="https://www.assemblyhalltheatre.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Assembly Hall</a> &#8211; both of which have a full calendar of cultural highlights &#8211; from comedy to musicals. </p>



<p>In the summer you can walk to <a href="https://www.pubintheparkuk.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Pub In the Park</a> and in the winter everyone heads to <a href="https://assemblyhalltheatre.co.uk/whats-on/skate-tunbridge-wells-2022" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">SKATE</a>, (from now until Mon 2 Jan 2023) when Calverley Grounds is transformed into a beautiful winter wonderland. With a large main rink and the smaller rink that doubles as a space for parents and toddlers during the day and a Bavarian Curling rink by night, there&#8217;s something for everyone.</p>

<p>Of course a thriving growing community needs good transport links. And anyone living in Tunny Wells is near enough to London to the north and the coast to the south, via the A21. Direct train journeys to London Bridge and Charing Cross take as little as 44 minutes. </p>



<p>And for anyone living in the new Hollyfields development &#8211; Tunbridge Wells train station is actually within walking distance, or 6 minutes if you make use of the exclusive residents-only shuttle bus service, running at peak hours Monday to Friday (thank you very much).</p>

<p>You&#8217;ll be spoilt for culinary choice, with fine dining at <a href="https://www.thelyle.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Lyle</a> right on your doorstep and then everything from <a href="https://www.sankeys.co.uk/the-old-fishmarket" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Sankey’s</a>&nbsp;(for fish),&nbsp;<a href="https://www.facebook.com/sucheeratw/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Sucheera</a>&nbsp;(for Thai) or&nbsp;<a href="https://www.facebook.com/tn11dq/">Kiko Sushi &amp; Yakitori</a>&nbsp;(for Japanese) being just some of the good eateries in the centre of town. For some retail therapy &#8211; most of your high street favourites can be found at the Royal Victoria Shopping Centre&nbsp;or the High Street. But the real gem in the Tunbridge Wells crown is the popular and pretty&nbsp;Georgian colonnade of shops, known as The Pantiles &#8211; a cobbled pedestrian-only stretch of street that&#8217;s flanked by gorgeous restaurants, bars and indie shops. </p>

<p>In the summer you&#8217;ll find Gin &amp; Jazz and for all the festive feels there&#8217;s the wonderful <a href="https://www.facebook.com/pantilesevents/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Pantiles Christmas Market</a> (pictured above). Discover a wide selection of food, gifts and crafts – plus carols sung by local choirs &#8211; open every Sat &amp; Sun ’til Christmas (10am to 4pm).</p>

<p>Sitting in the heart of this buzzy town it&#8217;s no surprise that community is big in Hawkenbury. If it&#8217;s a welcoming vibe or family friendly that you&#8217;re after then you&#8217;re in the right place. Hawkenbury Recreation Ground has a gated play area, with a variety of play equipment for all ages, including a wooden balance challenge and little racetrack for scooters. </p>



<p>Plus parents will be happy to hear that when it comes to education – not only will you find incredible independent prep and senior schools in the area – there’s brilliant boys and girls grammar schools in Tunbridge Wells and nearby Tonbridge right on your doorstep. AND Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ St Peter’s CoE Primary School recently relocated to the Hollyfields site, providing a brand new school at the heart of the community. </p>



<p>With welcoming Facebook community groups and the Hawkenbury Village Association swapping intel for anyone new to the area, a sense of fun (well-known for its Christmas spirit and festive light displays) PLUS the benefits of walking everywhere in town, but surrounded by stunning Kent countryside &#8211; it&#8217;s no wonder Hawkenbury is such a sought after hotspot.</p>
