<p>Meet Lavinia Watts, she&#8217;s Business Partner at <a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="Lenleys (opens in a new tab)" href="https://www.lenleys.co.uk" target="_blank">Lenleys</a>, Kent’s brilliant &#8211; and long-standing &#8211; independent department store. Young, stylish and with a passion for all things interiors, she&#8217;s the perfect person to bring a fresh new approach to this Canterbury institution.</p>



<p>Incredibly, Lavinia is the third generation of Watts to now work at Lenleys. Ever since school friends Leonard Watts and Stanley Adsett founded it 85 years ago. (They couldn’t agree on a name for their furniture shop – Lenleys or Stannards, a mix of the two gentlemen’s names. It was down to a coin toss.)</p>

<p>Another favourite of ours if we want to head to a beautiful seaside location. DPK has the most incredible views to accompany some delicious food and they are dog friendly so it is an outing for the whole family. What more could you want? Keep an eye out for their steak and lobster evenings!</p>

<p>This independent tapas restaurant in Tankerton is a favourite for me and my husband. We love the tapas style menu and the food is always delicious and matched with the most friendly service. It also helps that it is walking distance from our home! Top tip is to always have something from the special menu.</p>

<p>My first port of call for a restaurant in Canterbury whenever we have friends to visit. The atmosphere is vibrant and our favourites are the duck fajitas especially when accompanied with a frozen strawberry daiquiri! But they get booked up extremely quickly, so you definitely need to be organised to eat here.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A lock down discovery. Perfect for a takeaway coffee, a sweet treat or two and some sourdough bread. I am yet to go there and not walk away with a bag full of goodies. If you have never had one of their ‘cruffins’ then you haven’t lived! They have also recently expanded and opened a café, which I will be making a trip to very soon.</p>

<p>I love popping into this small gift shop in Burgate, Canterbury. Just for a little browse but also when I am looking for a gift for a friend or family member. They are super helpful and have some pretty cool pieces.</p>

<p>Whether it’s a little lunch break or if we fancy getting some yummy ingredients for a Sunday roast, we love the atmosphere here. I love just popping in to get a couple of key ingredients or equally a bunch of flowers and a coffee. It helps that it is walking distance from work as well so is a good reason to get out for some fresh air.</p>
