Cue the music! Green Room is the latest festival that you need to know about

We’re huge fans of this new three-day, music festival series featuring world-class artists that the whole family will love, coming this August. On a mission to keep music live and, above all, accessible. This is an experience not to be missed!

Green Room is a new music festival series, taking world-class artists, usually found on the big stage, into intimate and beautiful performance spaces so mark your diaries for its comeback on Fri 30 Aug – Sun 1 Sep 2024.

Taking place in the UK’s largest medieval Tithe Barn, located in the picturesque village of Lenham, audience numbers are limited so you really get the best possible experience.

Think 3 days, 5 concerts, classic cars, local refreshments, beautiful spaces and world class performers – including Lance Ellington, the resident vocalist on Strictly Come Dancing – scroll to read more.

THE VENUE

The 3-day summer festival is set in the spectacular and intimate backdrop of the Tithe Barn in Lenham. The barn is a remarkable historic structure that dates back to the 14th century. With its striking timber-framed design and expansive interior space, it served as a crucial centre for storing and distributing tithes collected from the local community. Today, it stands as a cherished heritage site, offering visitors a glimpse into Kent’s agricultural past making this event a truly special and unique experience.

MUSIC TO OUR EARS

Opening the festival with a bang is Lance Ellington, the voice of BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, and his fabulous band. Performing the music and songs of legends such as; Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, Duke & Ray Ellington, Nat King Cole and so many more. A show of unmissable style, class, nostalgia, romance and great swing music.

Don’t miss performances from Jack Gonzalez-Harding, rising superstar of the classical music world with awe-inspiring soloist, Nicholas McCarthy, the leading exponent of the 21st century repertoire.

We also love the sound of Sunday Brunch with renowned restaurant critic Jay Rayner. Who is also undoubtedly the best jazz pianist in Britain of all the judges on MasterChef. Jay now leads an ensemble of top-flight musicians to celebrate the greatest of 80s songs so get your jazzy 80s on with the Jay Rayner Sextet. Box-shouldered jacket and big hair optional.

Ending the festival on a high is A Night At The Musicals with some of the biggest names in musical theatre. Including award-winning stars of stage and screen, including TV’s Grantchester, Michael Xavier, four-time Laurence Olivier Award nominee, Emma Williams and so many more singing and playing some of your favourite numbers fresh from London’s West End stage. A night that promises to be truly unforgettable.

FAMILY FUN

Not forgetting the little people, there’s a concert for the whole family! Bach to Baby is the critically acclaimed classical concert series for babies, children and their families. Bach to Baby believes children can enjoy exceptional live classical music from their very earliest moments, so they bring exhilarating performances and outstanding musicians from the top concert stages to inspiring locations on your doorstep. Let your little ones dance, roam about and revel in the wonder of live music.

CLASSIC CARS

There’s also a Classic Car Meet which is held against the spectacular backdrop of this incredible tithe barn, accompanied by live music, refreshments and a truly unique atmosphere and it’s free to attend but don’t forget to still register for your tickets.
