From prize-winning livestock and thrilling stunt displays to artisan food and dancing sheep, the Kent County Show offers something for everyone.</p>



<p>Returning to the Kent Showground in Detling from <strong>Fri 3 to Sun 5 July 2026</strong>, <a href="https://kcas.org.uk/kent-county-show/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Kent County Show</a> is a much-loved annual event brings together the very best of the Garden of England for three action-packed days. Whether you&#8217;re a foodie, an animal lover, a countryside enthusiast or simply looking for a memorable day out with the family, here are <strong>five reasons to add it to your summer calendar</strong>&#8230;</p>

<p>Finding an event that keeps every generation entertained isn&#8217;t always easy, but the Kent County Show comes pretty close. Across the showground you&#8217;ll find everything from livestock displays and vintage vehicles to craft workshops, live entertainment and countryside activities.</p>

<p>Children can get hands-on with free crafts, marvel at the famous dancing sheep and watch dogs launch themselves into pools during the ever-popular K9 Aqua Sports displays. Meanwhile, parents can enjoy live music and refreshments on the Village Green while taking in the vibrant atmosphere that makes the show so special.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-2-celebrate-the-best-of-rural-kent">2. CELEBRATE THE BEST OF RURAL KENT</h2>

<p>At its heart, the Kent County Show is a showcase of the county&#8217;s farming heritage and rural industries. Livestock remains one of the biggest attractions, with cattle, sheep and goats competing throughout the weekend for prestigious championship titles and the coveted &#8216;Best in Show&#8217; honours.</p>



<p>The educational Living Land Village offers visitors of all ages the chance to learn more about food production, farming and the environment, while the Kent Young Farmers&#8217; section highlights the passion and expertise of hundreds of young people aged 10 to 28. It&#8217;s an inspiring insight into the future of agriculture in Kent.</p>

<p>Horse lovers should also make time for the Equine Village, where talented riders and beautiful horses compete across a variety of disciplines. The thrilling Double Harness Scurry remains a particular highlight, as pairs of ponies race against the clock pulling lightweight carriages through a challenging course.</p>

<p>When it&#8217;s time for some high-energy action, make your way to the John D Wood &amp; Co. Astor Ring. This year, visitors can enjoy daily performances from Paul Hannam&#8217;s ATV Stunt Team, delivering gravity-defying tricks and plenty of adrenaline-fuelled entertainment.</p>



<p>Back by popular demand is the K9 Aqua Sports. This crowd-pleasing spectacle sees dogs of all shapes and sizes sprint down a runway and launch themselves into a pool in a thrilling test of distance (and enthusiasm). Think high-energy dock diving meets doggie Olympics. It’s fast, it’s splashy, and it’s absolutely adorable.</p>

Returning for 2026, the Festival of Food brings together artisan producers from across Kent and beyond, offering everything from sweet treats and baked goods to cheeses, preserves and locally made specialities.</p>

<p>The Woodland Area is a popular destination, with lots of activities to do for all of the family. Have a go at archery or clay pigeon shooting, be amazed by the Saxon Re-enactments with their thrilling combat displays and learn wilderness skills from the Scouts. </p>



<p>Over in the Countryside Village, catch fly fishing demos, take in countryside talks, and discover the rural activities happening right on your doorstep. It’s the perfect place to reconnect with nature and learn something new. </p>
