BRAND NEW: Eastwell Manor, Bottomless Bubbles Afternoon Tea

Eastwell Manor have just launched a brand new Bottomless Bubbles Afternoon Tea – providing the perfect excuse / location to celebrate with free flowing Prosecco (yup, you read that right – unlimited top-ups of your glass) and delicious food. Whether you are celebrating a birthday, hen party, baby shower, engagement or anniversary, Eastwell Manor’s plush setting is perfectly poised for memorable moments. Designed by their Head Pastry Chef, Chef Hemant Chawla, Afternoon Tea includes a selection of freshly cut mini sandwiches and savouries, as well as delicious pastries such as banana maple cake, sumptuous macarons with fresh fruit compote and cream patisserie or a refreshing posset with a touch of Kent lavender. These are served alongside warm scones with clotted cream and locally produced strawberry jam. Priced at £35 pp, Mon-Fri and £45 pp Saturday and Sunday. See ya there!

KIDS THEATRE: Trinity Youth Theatre at Pub In The Park, This July

The award winning Trinity Youth Theatre will be appearing at Pub in the Park in Tunbridge Wells this July. The Youth Theatre has a reputation for delivering high energy, engaging, fun workshops and performances to the Tunbridge Wells community and beyond. The fabulous cast of Trinity Youth Theatre’s production of the meaty musical ‘Sweeney Todd School Edition’, will be joined by their casts of ‘Les Misérables School Edition’, and ‘High School Musical School Edition’, performing songs at the Pub in the Park entrance. Trinity Youth Theatre are also pleased to bring a range of activities for families to Pub in the Park. Their Storytellers sessions will excite and delight children, encouraging them to bring well known stories to life accompanied by professional live music through games and activities. In addition, Trinity Theatre’s Circus Skills sessions are highly interactive and high energy, encouraging children to stretch themselves and learn new skills such as the diablo, plate spinning and juggling.

COMING TO KENT: Ministry of Sound, 7 – 8 Sept 2019

Kent’s leading music and action sports festival, Wheels and Fins (7-8 Sept 2019) has announced that global dance powerhouse, Ministry of Sound, will take over ‘The Bunker’ dance tent on Sun 8 Sept. The mega club brand brings a giant line-up of house, bass and garage stars, including Noisia, Redlight, DJ Zinc, Barely Legal, Emerald, Harriet Jaxxon, Just Geo, Chris Thomas and a full live set from Killer Hertz. Situated at the stunning Joss Bay in Broadstairs, Kent, Wheels and Fins is a boutique, beachside festival that mixes up quality music alongside the best bits of skate and surf culture. Enjoy a delicious meal by the incredible I’ll Be Mother restaurant team and be transported into the magical world of A Midsummer Night’s Dream with performances to enjoy between courses. Tickets are £60 which includes a glass of bubbly, a feast and the show. And The 39 Steps will be appearing in the natural amphitheatre of The Beacon restaurant on the 9th – 13th July. BOOK UP NOW! Junior Rowing courses, Canterbury, 15-19 July
Is this the best holiday activity for older kids / teens ever? Get them outdoors, developing their co-ordination and co-operation skills – and no doubt making some friends along the way… Following in the footsteps (or rowing strokes) of the hugely successful Oxford Junior Rowing courses, the organisers are now running the first 5 day summer course in KENT. Taking place at King’s Canterbury, the course will run from 15-19 July 2019 and is open for 11-15 year olds from novice to advanced. NEW ESCAPE: Escape In The Towers, Magna Carter Murder, Canterbury 

Canterbury’s award winning Escape Room experience set within England’s largest surviving Medieval gateway & Canterbury’s former city gaol, is launching another escape for you to enjoy! ellenor, the Kent charity that supports families facing terminal illness, is asking people to sign up for their first ever Virtual Run to raise money for hospice care. Every penny raised will make a huge difference and help ellenor continue to provide free, vital services to patients and their families living with a life limiting or terminal illness. If you can’t participate in physical events due to commitment or time, the Virtual Run gives everyone the opportunity to take on a run or walk at a time and place that suits them. Register online and then walk or run the race distance in your own time whether it be on a treadmill in the gym, at home or outdoors! How far you run is up to you. You can take on a set distance of 5k, 10k, half a marathon, and full marathon or choose your own distance – while your friends and family support your fundraising! The Food tourism initiative, Kent Food Trails, gathers and condenses information, recommendations and history into easy bite-sized chunks for Kent’s increasing numbers of foodie visitors. This month they’ve launched two new bite-sized guides; ‘Hops and Beers’ and ‘Apples, Ciders & Juices’. The Kent Food Trails are designed to encourage everyone – visitors and locals alike – to discover new places and taste new flavours.
