Tonbridge School

Sevenoaks School, Sevenoaks

A superb co-ed day and boarding school for 11 – 18 year olds, set on a 100-acre campus with a well-established reputation for academic rigour. This school also boasts idyllic grounds while being town-based, exceptional facilities and a thoughtful, progressive outlook. St Lawrence College, Ramsgate

Supportive and caring co-educational day and boarding school, situated in the seaside town of Ramsgate. St Lawrence College is the latest to go under the Muddy microscope. Cranbrook School, Cranbrook

Cranbrook School is unique in the state sector, they’re the only state grammar and boarding school in the country that is co-educational and offers many benefits of a private education without the cost. The King’s School, Canterbury

Kent College, Pembury

Historically an all-girls Prep School now admitting boys up to Year 3, read our review of KC Prep. Kent College, Canterbury

Steeped in history yet with a very modern and innovative attitude to education, Kent College in Canterbury is a strong contender for the next generation. Read our review first and then visit the Junior School on Fri 27 Sep and Senior School on Sat 28 Sep.

Solefield School, Sevenoaks

Small but perfectly formed, this popular prep school welcomed girls for the first time in Jan 2024. Now co-educational, taking both boys & girls from 3 to 13 years, Solefield School puts pastoral care, happiness, and academic success at the top of the agenda. Sutton Valence School, Sutton Valence

Walthamstow Hall Junior & Senior School, Sevenoaks

Walthamstow Hall School in Sevenoaks takes girls from 2 to 11 years at the Junior School and from 11 to 18 at the Senior School. Babington House, Chislehurst

This independent, co-ed, day school in Chislehurst – for pupils from 3 to 18 years – is a rising star. Ranked Top Small Independent School in the UK, for A Level results – the academics here are strong – and the size means everyone gets their chance to shine. Sevenoaks Prep, Sevenoaks

For first-class facilities and a great all-rounder education, Sevenoaks Prep is an established co-ed independent day school with 400 pupils. We had a nosey round so read what we found. Hilden Oaks, Tonbridge

Dulwich, Cranbrook

Check out this rural school that sits in 50 acres of beautiful Kent countryside and the latest news is, that it’s recently expanded to offer an all-through education from 2-16 years whilst retaining its exceptional pastoral care, sporting prowess, and strong academic reputation. Read our review and attend their Whole School Open Morning on Sat 5 Oct, 9am – 12pm.

Duke of York’s Royal Military School, Dover

The country’s only state full boarding school, based on the independent school model, with the facilities and extracurricular activities to match. Cobham Hall School, Gravesend

A boarding and day school for girls aged 11-18 with a co-educational Sixth Form. There’s currently a total of 150 Day and Boarding pupils on roll – but it’s built around a ‘dream big’ concept, summarised in the school motto: ‘There’s more in you than you think’. Attend their Open Morning on Sat 5 Oct, 9:30am – 12:30pm where you’ll enjoy an individual tour of the School led by the students. Radnor House, Sevenoaks

Radnor House is a co-educational day school set on 27 acres, offering education for ages 2 to 18. With seamless transitions between Nursery, Prep, and Senior sections, and a commitment to “celebrating every individual,” the school is quickly gaining recognition for its dynamic and inclusive approach. Spring Grove School, Wye

An independent school looking after children from 2- 11, positioned just outside the pretty village of Wye. This is a school that is very proud of its ‘family’ atmosphere with excellence in teaching and learning and a very inclusive nature when it comes to sport, music, and drama. Junior King’s, Canterbury

Steeped in history yet with a very modern and innovative attitude to education, Junior Kings in Canterbury is a strong contender for the next generation. Somerhill, Tonbridge

Holmewood House, Tunbridge Wells

A co-educational, non-selective school for boys and girls aged 3-13 years, of just under 500 pupils, situated in 32 acres of glorious grounds in Langton Green just outside of Tunbridge Wells. St Michael’s Prep School, Otford
